Mitchell+ Associates is a well known and respected multi-disciplinary design practice with Landscape Architecture, Master Planning and Urban Design at its core. They are very well known in Ireland for their portfolio of work over the 33 years but had no website meaning that new clients and existing customers had nowhere to see their work, values or contact details.
Being a large design practice meant that a considerable amount of their work comes through national and international tenders. Having an up to date site with credible and validating content is a must to ensure procurement teams can browse projects at their ease being delighted by the ease of navigation and the projects listed. In the processes of developing the site a full new brand was created which cleverly helps the user to realise the brand’s collaborative process, architectural DNA and client focus, elegantly captured in the + symbol.
As part of this project the company brand was designed. Landscape architecture and urban planning are based on lines and angles, a conjunction of angles that become a project and eventually a building. Mitchell + Associates brings this idea into the brand in the form of the +, representing the perfect intersection of lines that become right angles, conveying balance and the assertive approach of the practice in every project. Moreover, the + also represents everything you can add to a project and the partnership between the client and Mitchell + Associates that helps turn innovative ideas into reality.
This + detail is an integral part of the website design and speaks to the collaboration between client and the practice. This detail is largest and most prominent on the “ready to work with us?” CTA. The overall layout is contemporary and minimalist. This balance between white space and detail ensures the spectacular architectural photography is allowed to speak to the breath of skill, diversity and scale of projects.
Having an online presence for the first time allows this brand to now navigate in an online world. During the pandemic the site was an extremely useful portfolio for potential clients to browse. It has also been an asset for tender processes whereby previously the procurement teams belonging to these tenders had nothing to find when searching for the practice can now see a wealth of rich, validating content on the site for domestic and international tenders.
